The physical origin of aesthetic feelings – (27/10/2023). Notice something curious about the name “Scattergood”, because it is not a random combination of the two words “scatter” and “good” that the linguists have concocted so that it would perhaps sound fashionable. There is a physical interpretation to that name concerning the nature of beauty and taste in relation to our biological needs. We know that a flower is physically intact and therefore appears beautiful. But also smoke blowing in space, that is in the physically scattered phase, as well appears visually attractive in the opposite way, it is the quality of looking good. Because the good is physically opposite to the beautiful in nature. Some people’s faces resemble a flower and others’ like smoke – the former being alive and the latter dead. The ancient Greek philosopher Xenophon said, “anything forced is not beautiful”. Because unlike the predator the prey loses its figure or even lacking it.
